Specialist legal translators for contract translations
Translations of contracts that preserve the meaning of the original text.
As a translation agency, we know: Even a slightly different interpretation of the source text is enough to change the meaning of the legal document. Even linguistically correct translations of a contract can lead to different conclusions in a legal context and result in disputes. There may also be serious legal consequences, such as warnings or claims for damages. In order to prevent mistakes, so that you can fully rely on our translation, we only use experienced legal translators who are familiar with the legal terminology and practice.

Our advice for contract translations
One extra clause makes all the difference.
We can help you to convey the meaning of the content of your contract in another language. Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, we recommend that you include an additional clause in the contract: Specify that the contract translation is solely for better understanding and that the agreement in the original language is legally binding. In addition, we recommend that you always check the legal situation in the country for which you want to have a contract prepared for translation. According to the American Bar Association, for example, the original English contract is not always the binding version, especially in the case of transnational transactions–even for American companies.

FAQ
How much does a contract translation cost?
Contract translations are available starting at 90 cents per standard line. That is approx. 55 characters including spaces. However, depending on the source and target language as well as on the complexity and specialization, the price can vary considerably. When requesting a quote, it is therefore advisable to include the text to be translated.
How long does it take to translate a contract?
A professional legal translator can manage up to 200 lines per day. If a contract is very extensive but the translation has a tight deadline, translation agencies often are able to put together a team of translators. In this way, even up to 1000 lines per day are doable, provided the necessary legal translators are available..
Is it worth it to have a contract translated by a specialist translator?
It depends on the risk you take by signing the contract. The higher the legal and financial risk, the more advisable it is to have the contract translated by a professional legal translator. If the risk is particularly high, consult a lawyer as well to determine whether the original text or the translation is legally binding.
